Smith Precollege Programs are open to students entering 9th-12th grade in the fall of 2025. Smith is a residential women’s college. Our Precollege Programs offer a Smith experience for high school students. College credit is not offered.

The Summer Game Studiois a two-week immersive experience for high school students passionate about interactive game design. Through a workshop-style, team-based format, students explore all aspects of game design from concept to creation, and each participant will design their very own game. It's a fantastic way to dive into this dynamic and fast-growing industry. Participants are taught and mentored by Becker faculty, with overnight accommodations provided right on our main campus.
The Summer Journalism Academy at Boston University gives high school students the opportunity to expand their skills and prepare for college, either through a residential experience on campus or through remote instruction from home. Each academy instructor is also a working journalist, so what’s taught is grounded in real-life experience. Junior Instructors are high school or university students who lend a helping hand at our clubs and camps. Junior Instructors are invited to work closely alongside our instructor team to deliver and share STEM to youth in a hands-on and dynamic learning environment. This involves some curriculum development, assisting with lesson delivery, materials preparation, teaching opportunities, and more.
